The Voice
The Voice newspaper was established to “provide a factual analysis and reporting of social, economic and political issues that confront black people in the Plainfield area” on June 22, 1968. At first a bi-weekly, it later became a weekly newspaper. It is believed to have ceased publication in 1974.

The Library holds issues of The Voice newspaper from July 1972 (Vol. 5 No. 3) to March 1974 (Vol. 6 No. 24), with gaps. Earlier issues from 1969 to 1972 (with gaps) are currently only available in hard copy.
