Dear Eighth Graders,
I start writing this just after watching the first run-through of B e a u ty a n d the Beast. Your hard
work, your team effort, your spirit, your combined talent, and the resulting quality o f the pro
duction, beating the odds of a tenacious virus, have become your class's trademark. Just as you
so judiciously prepared the grand opening of the school year, you have not done anything "half
baked" since then.
Thank you for sharing your passions and dreams with the rest of us in your eighth grade speech
es. Your academic achievement, athletic prowess, artistic and dramatic gifts, and generosity have
inspired Buckley's younger students and rewarded the faculty.
As every class who has graduated from Buckley for the past seventy-six years you have made your
mark and earned a special place in the history of the school.
I feel so fortunate that you are my first graduating class, and I wish you the best of luck in all the
fine schools in which you have gained acceptance.
Best wishes,
6
