5 Years At Buckley

June, 1993
The school year is just underway as I write this, but publishing deadlines require that my letter to you as
graduates be written well before commencement. Much will occur between the time I write this and your
graduation in June.
All classes have memories of special events of their eighth grade year. I shall not try to be prescient and name
those special events of your final year at Buckley. Certainly the musical and your class trip will provide some,
but day-to-day events can sometimes lead to equally memorable situations. A few will be public, and a few will
be shared just amongst yourselves. Whatever the events or incidents are, they will help to bring you together as
a class.
As time goes on, hang on to those memories. They are an important part of your experience at Buckley and a
part of Buckley history, legend, and lore. You will enjoy recounting stories of this year when you are together
again in the future. With each passing year they will have greater importance for you (even though the accuracy
of details will diminish!).
I am sure that your teachers, too, will have special memories of your final year. They will enjoy sharing them
with you, so come back often to reminisce and maintain your ties to each other and to Buckley.
