THE KINGDOM OF GHANA
Gold shimmered on Ghana’s land
While merchants traded with valuable salt,
Sun rays shimmered on the river banks,
And the kingdom of Ghana came to a halt.
The Arabs gave birth to a brand new kingdom,
A brand new empire to be held,
A new land was born, new traditions were taken,
A brand new king now had dwelled.
